STEAM Studio hosts some of the Senior Design projects from the Mechatronics program. Students engaged in Senior Design projects at STEAM Studio work with tools, processes, and STEAM staff to design and fabricate their projects. Past projects include Mel Chin’s animatronic Wake, Navair’s remote controlled forklift which was specifically designed to navigate the tight quarters of aircraft carriers, and the NC Arboretum’s new animatronic animals in the Arboretum’s Winter Lights display.
